The blue line and shaded area are average wind speeds. The red line is the gusts. The green line is the lulls. The arrows at top are wind directions, so for example, an arrow pointing straight downward indicates "north wind" (from the north).
Remember, the boat can sail on a beat at 40 degrees off the wind. So that means the only pain in the ass wind on 6/14 (the day we depart Smith) would be from the Northwest or straight North.
