- 5/21/05: We fished all week from 05/15 to 05/20 with only this one big ugly (see picture - DMF) to show for our efforts. She was caught on 05/17 about 4:30 pm near 16 (bouy - DMF). This is my first Black Drum.

- 5/21/05: Trolled below Bloody Pt this afternoon. Downsized the baits and fished deeper. Caught 5 up to 35" with a couple more hits. Couple were throwbacks.

- 5/22/05: Went back to the same area again this afternoon, vic of Bloody Pt. Deep trolled smaller baits again. Caught 10 total, kept 3 around 22".

- 5/22/05: Just when it looks hopeless, the sweet sound of a 320 GTI short and deep line drag going breaks the silence. Never yelled "fish on" louder in my life. Tom get the belt on and get this fish in before he comes unpinned. This fish was digging and zig zagging all over the place and taking drag by the handfuls. We finally get to the weight, I leader and Tom nets a very rotund 41 inch fish, who kept fighting and thrashing even after being netted. She put up a fight getting her unhooked and into the box.
